It's a new gadget (a smartphone if you're either not a USian or living under a rock) I got a couple of days ago. It was intended for Christmas, but it's impossible to get a new phone without activating it, so I got it early...

Awesome stuff about it
I used to be using a dumbphone. Duh. But even comparing stuff they both do, this one has a better camera (the above picture would have looked worse), is actually usable for typing (texting on a keypad... Guuh.), and has a password-protection feature that comes into play whenever the phone is opened, instead of just when it starts (why would you want it locked when it starts up and only then?).
In comparison to mom's LG Ally, more interesting things are visible. The Ally has a slide-out keyboard, while the Incredible only has the touch-keyboard. No real winner, there, since the lack of a keyboard means a thinner phone, while tactile controls are more receptive to memorization.
In terms of power... 600 MHz Qualcomm vs. 1 GHz Snapdragon isn't a contest. It's a slaughter. I really don't know how that affects battery life, since we put them through completely different workloads, but as long as you keep them at the same sleeping clock, only testing can say if the Snapdragon would still suck more electricity. To be fair, my old dumbphone equals or beats either of them.
Sheesh, it seems I can't comprehend things without comparing them to each other...
What could be better
This is a Christmas present, so I don't want to be misconstrued as complaining. Mom, if anyone deserves criticism, it's Verizon, not you.
Charging extra for tethering is the first one. If I saturate my unmetered connection all the time, why does it matter if I'm doing it with my phone or my PC? And if you're wondering how I'd do it with the phone, all I need to do is use one of the BitTorrent clients...
I also wish they'd let me remove the bloatware. Yes, I could root to fix both issues, but I'm not interested in bricking it.
